I needed to use the SL030 RFID reader on linux (on a beaglebone with i2c support enabled, of course). But when I tried to communicate with the device using i2cget, the device failed and disappeared from the detected devices. After the break, we’ll see why and how I solved it.
All addresses and data words are serially transmitted to and from the SL030 in 8-bit words. The SL030 sends a zero to acknowledge that it is not busy, and has received each word.
