For TappyBLE applications where the operator is far away from the PC, there may be a need for a higher reliability setup where the reader only accepts scans when the Bluetooth connection is healthy. The amiibo bin itself is considered Nintendos intellectual property. So even selling blank cards with the bin programed on it is technically illegal. I am completely new to Arduino and would like to make some very limited keyboard inputs using an MFRC522 rfid-reader, a couple of tags and an Arduino Nano. The inputs would have to be continuous and be able to be read simultaneously. HID keyboard profile features: ADF rules can be applied to barcode and RFID data in HID mode. RFID data is supported over HID with Gen2 session 2 only. The only way to start a read in HID mode is to pull the trigger. Barcode and RFID cannot be used at the same time. The USB to COM could be an easy solution, but it requires the following: The RFID device supports it. There is a suitable driver for Windows. Only the manufacturer of the device can answer these questions to you. Actually, the HID keyboard solution has a big advantage: It doesn't require a driver on your host OS.
I'm using an Rfid Reader (a small usb stick) which imitates an HID keyboard on Debian Linux (Squeeze). less -f /dev/input/event2 gives me a bunch of gibberish on the screen the moment an rfid tag is scanned.circuitpython-rfid-hid convert RFID Tag Data into keystrokes by emulating a USB Keyboard on a Pi Pico, including leave-events. It can read and write tag data, but currently only checks if the tag UID exists in a JSON file. This video describes methods for capturing and re-sending RFID key codes from an RFID reader, so they NOT always go to the active application. As an alternat.
This article provides a guide to configure a RFD40 UHF RFID Premium or Premium+ sled to transmit RFID tag data in HID Mode.
